Falkirk Care Report Urges Improvements
A report into social work services in Falkirk has made 15 recommendations to improve the service. The Social Work Inspection Agency said the service and its staff had a good impact on the community, but said improvements could be made.
The agency called for consistency in risk assessment and planning and said the service should ensure that projects were completed on time.
The findings were published after a six-month inspection this year.
The report, which covers all aspects of Falkirk Council’s social work services, evaluated seven areas as good and said three areas were adequate.
‘Necessary changes’
Alexis Jay, chief inspector at the SWIA, said: “Today’s report shows that Falkirk Council’s social work services are well placed to build on the good services they have.
“Inspectors highlighted the positive commitment made by the service, senior managers and elected members to achieving an improvement in services.
“The capacity for improvement in social work services is also good.
“We will now work with the council to agree an action plan in response to this inspection report, which will ensure the necessary changes are made and monitored for the benefit of people in Falkirk.”
