Funding Boost For Community Alcohol Work In Scotland
The generous donation came from the Robertson Trust who will work closely with Scotland’s foremost alcohol charity on the new project. The project will work with local people and organisations to identify how alcohol misuse affects the community and how to best have a real and positive impact on local alcohol issues.
It is hoped that the success of this initial project, whose location has yet to be announced, will lead to further community projects all over the country.
Gill Bell of Alcohol Focus Scotland said: “Alcohol misuse affects communities across the country. Drunken and anti-social behaviour create safety concerns for local residents, while alcohol misuse wastes lives and robs communities of people who could otherwise have made a positive difference to the life of those around them.”
