Warning That Number Of Dementia Patients Will Almost Double

Experts are warning that the number of people suffering from dementia will almost double in the next 25 years. At the moment dementia costs Scotland £1.4 billion as 58,000 people here suffer from it.

The projected figures suggest though that there will be a crisis in medical and social care.  

The Alzheimer’s Society’s latest report calls for urgent a national plan similar to those that already exist to deal with cancer, heart disease and strokes.
