Manor House Nursing Home in Stourport to close down
A care home in Worcestershire is to close after administrators could not find a buyer for it. The Manor House Nursing Home in Stourport went into administration in June after failing a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
Administrator Grant Thornton UK said it was working with Worcestershire County Council to find new homes for 24 elderly residents.
The facility also cares for physically disabled people and employs 44 staff.
Worcestershire County Council said the home would close next week.
A spokesman for the council said: “We are working to ensure the safe transfer of residents to new accommodation in a way which causes as little distress and upset as possible.”
“We recognise this news will be a disappointment to residents and their families and our social work team will be supporting them thoroughly throughout the process to make it as smooth as possible.”
The CQC concluded in its report in June that Manor House was “failing patients in all aspects of care” including safety, treatment and standards of management.
