West Cumbrian care home worker denies ill-treatment charges

A care assistant has pleaded not guilty to two counts of ill-treating a person lacking mental capacity at a Workington care home.

Kimberly Anne Walker, 24, of Newlands Lane South, has denied the charges relating to incidents at Amathea Residential Home in Newlands Lane alleged to have taken place between October and December last year.

Walker appeared at West Allerdale Magistrates’ Court yesterday and her case has been committed to Carlisle Crown Court on July 18.

She was granted conditional bail.
