Care home boys go missing in Worksop
POLICE spent yesterday hunting for two boys reported missing from a Worksop care home. The youngsters – David Simpson, aged 14, and Charlie Burgess, 13 – never arrived at their care home in Carburton, Worksop, on Tuesday afternoon after leaving Dawn House School, Duncanwood Lodge, at around midday.
There have been a number of sightings of the boys – on a cycle trail near Duncanwood Lodge, in Worksop town centre, and near the train station. Police fear they may have travelled to London.
David is white, 5ft 7ins tall, and has short, mousy-coloured hair. He was wearing a burgundy jumper, a vest, black tracksuit bottoms, grey trainers, orange gloves and a white and blue cap.
Charlie is white, 5ft 4ins tall and has short, black hair. He was wearing a dark grey top with yellow lining in the hood, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and white Nike Air Max trainers.
Detective Chief Inspector Vince Treece said: “These boys may have been trying to catch a lift out of the area and may have approached passing motorists.
“They may have spent the night outside in the cold temperatures, and we are expecting freezing weather conditions so we need to find them.”
