Councillors Vote For HSE Abolition
Dublin City Council has passed a motion calling for the abolition of the Health Service Executive.
Councillors voted overwhelmingly in favour of the motion, which was first passed by Limerick County Council.
The motion will now go to the other three Dublin regional authorities of Fingal, Dublin South and Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown.
The motion also calls on Minister for Health Mary Harney to meet with group and health forum members of the city council about problems in the health service.
