Health Standards Watchdog To Review Breast Cancer Services
The Health Information and Quality Authority has announced plans to conduct a review of all Irish breast cancer services. The move is designed to ensure that the highest quality of standards are implemented around the country.
It follows a number of recent controversies involving problems with the accuracy of breast cancer screening in various areas. The latest controversy erupted yesterday when it emerged that thousands of scans carried out at the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise are being reviewed.
