A new product claimed to revolutionise testing procedures for a number of illnesses has been launched by a County Antrim company. The product, from Randox Laboratories, involves the use of biochips.

It provides doctors with a more accurate diagnosis of the symptoms of conditions like cardiovascular disease. Randox employs 700 people worldwide, including about 500 at its plant in Crumlin. It recently won the Queen’s Award for Export for the fifth time.
