About this client: Joshua, 5, is an adorable, creative and fun-loving 5-year-old chap; he loves swimming, playing with cars and problem-solving games. Joshua has recently started at big school! It is all very new for Joshua and his parents, but also very exciting! Joshua is neurotypical, his mum and dad share custody and both parents are registered blind. Joshua’s dad sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury and as a result has his own dedicated team enabling him to live independently at home. Due to Joshua’s dad’s Brain Injury, clear communication is essential. Joshua has a Snap Care Specialist Nanny supporting him when at his dad’s, and there is an opening for an additional Nanny to come on board. Joshua’s mum and dad live locally to each other and co-parent very well and have a great support system in place for Joshua. Soon, Joshua will start spending nights at his dad’s house, and this role is to enable this change, support with the transition, and facilitate Joshua’s dad in his parenting role.
Overview of role: A typical day will involve picking Joshua up from his Mum’s house to take him to his dad’s. Duties include preparing a light snack or supper, playing, doing some activities, bathtime, then following the bedtime routine. Joshua sleeps very well during the night, and it is unlikely he will need any support once he is settled into this new routine. The morning will consist of getting Joshua ready for school, having breakfast and driving, Joshua, his dad and his PA to school to complete the drop off. There is more time and scope to plan activities, outings and trips on the weekend. It is imperative that you facilitate Joshua’s Dad in his role and know when to step in, or step back.
Who this job would suit: An experienced, professional, calm Nanny who is dedicated, friendly, can use their initiative and works well as part of a wider team. For this role it is essential that you are a driver and can offer additional hours during school holidays or to cover leave. You must be confident working across two households and put Joshua’s safety and wellbeing at the forefront. This role is open to *female candidates only.
What’s great about this job: This is a dynamic, challenging but highly rewarding position. You will have the opportunity to help foster an extremely important relationship between Joshua and his dad and know that with your support this fabulous young chap has every opportunity to learn, grow and reach his full potential. A truly rewarding role!
