Social Worker – fixed term until 02/09/2025

Salary: £36,312 – 42,717
Hours: 36 per week
Based at the Orchard Clinic Medium Secure Unit located within the Royal Edinburgh Hospital this presents an exciting opportunity to gain experience and further professional development within a secondary setting who originate from out with the City of Edinburgh local authority area.
The post holder will provide an assessment and care management service to patients from out with Edinburgh, linking in with statutory social work services from the home local authority.
You should have considerable experience of assessment, care planning and care management in mental health social work.
You should have experience of multi-disciplinary risk assessment, and adult/public protection.
Accreditation as a Mental Health Officer is desirable.
A working knowledge of the criminal justice system is desirable.
As this is a secondment arrangement, your current line manager is required to support your application.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
