Within their role, Social Care Assistants have responsibility for working as a member of the Care At Home Team to provide support and personal care in accordance with agreed service plan based on a person centred/ rehabilitation approach. The aim is to support frail, older, physically disabled and vulnerable people in their own homes to maintain their ability to live independently.
To support individuals to accomplish tasks relating to independence and maintenance of personal care, medication, dietary requirements, physical health and mobility within their home.
To provide support to individuals liaising with other professionals as necessary.
To work as a member of Care at Home team maintaining contact, attending meetings and training as required.
To maintain the Health and Safety of yourself and others whilst providing support.
Use technology as required for the role.
Personal values that would reflect understanding of social, emotional and physical needs of frail, disabled and vulnerable people.
Good standard of literacy in order to record and communicate information accurately.
Agreement to work towards qualifications required for registration and any training required to meet standards.
Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
To be a team player.
Ability to be flexible within a working pattern.
Active listening and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with individuals and staff at all levels.
Positive attitude and ability to respect needs of individuals.
You will be expected to use your own car to travel within the operational requirements of the service.
Good verbal and written communicational skills.
Understanding of the importance of the requirement of confidentiality.
Must be physically able to undertake a range of movements when carrying out personal care and safer people handling.
An understanding of PPE requirements as good practice.

Starting Salary: £27,994.20 (pro rata)
£14.55 per hour
All Social Care Assistants are provided with a Moray wide contract.
Social Care Assistants (START) work 7 hour shifts per day.
Face to face interviews will take place week commencing 16/12/2024, this will also include a short computer exercise and written questions.
Start date 03/02/2025 followed by 2 week Training programme commencing on 10/02/2025
