About The Role
Support Worker – Barry (West Aberthaw) – Hourly Rate £11.60 to £12.00 – Full time – 40.25 hours plus Annual Location Allowance – £1200 .
Situated in West Aberthaw surrounded by small friendly villages and close to the seaside town of Barry Ty Carreg is home to twelve adults from the age of 18.
Arranged across a series of beautifully converted stone barns Ty Carreg provides a range of interior-designed living environments including sole occupancy self-contained apartments, and 2, 3 and 4-bed communal living areas.
As a Support Worker at Ty Carreg, you will play a crucial role in the lives of the individuals, supporting their daily activities, and personal development. You will work closely with a magnificent team including therapists and other support workers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
A day in the life of working at Ty Carreg includes:
Ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met through a supportive and caring environment
Support our people during recreational activities, outings and community integration;
Promote independence, self-esteem, and confidence in the individuals, celebrating their achievements and milestones
Working together to ensure support is tailored to meet individual needs
Keeping accurate records of all activities, progress, and incidents should they arise
General housekeeping duties, including meal preparationSound good so far? We are looking for people who care and have:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships;
Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs;
A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team;
Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes;
Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and occasional night shifts;
A driving licence isn't essential, but would be advantageous;Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
