The Strategic Acquisitions Officer will provide frontline advice, guidance and support to owners and other interested parties regarding the acquisition of empty properties. The post holder will also help identify occupied properties where the owner wishes to sell to a social landlord. This will involve carrying out investigations, developing innovative solutions to barriers/challenges, undertake property inspections and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to establish the condition and ownership status of these properties with a view to bringing them back into use.
You should have excellent communication and report writing skills and experience of partnership working and establishing networks. You will have knowledge and understanding of private sector housing issues and have previous experience in project management.
You should have a minimum of an HNC, or equivalent, in Housing or Business Administration field and/or relevant experience in the Housing field. It is desirable that you are educated to degree standard and/or postgraduate qualification in housing or equivalent qualification and have a full current driving licence.
This post is temporary for a period up to 2 years.
