New Chief Executive appointed to Scotland’s social service workforce regulator
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) today announced the appointment of Maree Allison as its new Chief Executive.
Maree (pictured) was appointed Interim Chief Executive in the spring, following Lorraine Gray’s retiral. Maree has a long association with the SSSC, most recently as the Director of Regulation.
The Convener of the SSSC, Sandra Campbell, said today:”I am delighted that Maree is our new Chief Executive. Maree brings extensive knowledge and experience of the SSSC and social services to the role as well as boundless energy and genuine passion for the work of this organisation. The Council is really looking forward to working together with Maree.”
Maree Allison commented: “I am very proud of the Scottish Social Services Council and all that we have achieved so far. I am pleased to be the new Chief Executive and very much looking forward to working with the Convener and the Council, our dedicated and skilled staff, our registrants and employers, partners and others, building on our achievements. This is an exciting time for the organisation.”
Ms Allison starts her new role with the SSSC at its office in Dundee.
