West Lothian Council’s Justice Service, have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Social Worker (Fixed Term) to the Youth Justice Team. This dynamic team is responsible for working with all children and young people in conflict with the law from 12 – under 21 years.
The expected candidate will manage a diverse, complex and challenging caseload displaying an ability to work collaboratively with service providers whilst adopting a trauma informed approach when engaging with children and young people. Whilst primarily based within the Youth Justice Team, the successful candidate will however be expected to work across the wider Justice Service if necessary to meet the exigencies of the service.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.
