Paramedic to stand trial accused of rape and sexual offences against four women
A paramedic has denied 10 sexual offences against four women, including the alleged rape of one patient.
Andrew Wheeler, 45, who is due to stand trial next year, denies seven counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one of causing sexual activity without consent.
The defendant, of Signal Road, Ramsey, Cambridgeshire, appeared at Peterborough Crown Court (pictured), where he entered pleas of not guilty on Monday.
He is accused of the rape and sexual assault of a patient in 2018 and of causing sexual activity without consent against another patient in 2010.
It is alleged in the 2010 incident Wheeler placed the patient’s hand on his genitals over his clothing.
He is accused of five counts of rape against another woman between 2002 and 2013.
Wheeler is accused of one count of rape against a further woman in 2008 and of sexually assaulting her in 2009.
He was bailed to stand trial at Cambridge Crown Court on May 11 with a time estimate of eight to 10 days given.
Cambridgeshire Police said the alleged victims were over the age of 16.
The force said the offences are alleged to have taken place while Wheeler was working as a paramedic for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust and volunteering for St John Ambulance.
