Hays Social Care have the pleasure of working exclusively with a reputable charity Finding Your Feet who support Scottish families affected by amputation or limb absence, through a range of sporting initiatives and social inclusion projects designed to positively affect both physical and mental well-being. The organisation started just over 6 years ago and have amazingly grown their network to over 800 in just 6 years. The charity prides itself on the strong impact they have on the community which is down to determination, commitment, encouragement and positive outlook which in turn enables/encourages the individuals (‘FYF Troopers’) they support to lead a healthy well-balanced independent lifestyle.

Due to the ongoing growth of the organisation a new and exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced Wellbeing Officer who will play a vital part in supporting ‘FYF Troopers’ and staff. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, caring and a positive individual who has worked previously within mental health/physical disability setting. You will be working closely with the amputee community and be able to communicate effectively in view to achieving positive outcomes and encouraging individual to lead a healthy well-balanced lifestyle.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Ability to respond effectively to the well-being needs of ‘FYF Troopers’
• Committed and dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of others is a priority
• Assess ‘FYF Troopers’ well-being needs and implement support where needed
• Experience of working within a mental health and well-being setting would be advantageous
• Ability to build report and work as part of a small dynamic team of care professionals

Qualifications Considered/Requirements

• Desired SVQ Level 3 / 4 Health & Social Care
• Minimum HND (SCQF Level 8) qualification in a psychology
• PGDip or equivalent qualification in a Counselling discipline.
• Qualified Occupational Therapist
• SSSC Registered/Other regulatory body
• A PVG check will be required for the position
