An excellent opportunity has arisen for the post of Welfare Contract Coordinator within the Housing Options & Homeless Service. You will contribute at an operational level, playing a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of a frontline statutory service to our customers. Duties are extremely varied so you should be adaptable to learning and keen to develop your skills. We are looking for someone who works well under pressure, is able to work well under own initiative, is flexible, extremely conscientious, and dependable.
Whilst you will be part of a busy team, you will be the single point of contact for housing support matters. This will include maintaining effective relationships with all stakeholders and providing advice and guidance to colleagues and customers in understanding and interpreting legislation and regulations in relation to Housing Support.
You will be responsible for arranging regular meetings, ensuring accurate minute taking and evidencing discussions, actions taken and implemented. On occasion you will be required respond appropriately to corporate complaints and queries.
Other duties include monitoring the financial payments for housing support contracts and liaising with finance, participating and assisting with projects related to service improvement and regularly reviewing housing support information to ensure this is accurate and up to date.
You should be educated to minimum Higher Grade or equivalent in English and Mathematics, and be able to evidence strong, effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. You will be comfortable when dealing with members of the public and a wide range of stakeholders. You must have excellent administration, and PC skills with the ability to learn new computer systems. Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office applications is essential; experience in the use of the Council’s financial system Integra and other IT systems is desirable
You must have the ability to adapt and be flexible within a busy and dynamic work environment. You must be able to work with minimum supervision and use your own initiative when planning and organising your workload to meet deadlines. You must be a team player, hardworking, friendly, and approachable with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer care to our customers and other stakeholders.
