Agency work available for experienced support workers within homeless projects around the Chester area
Your new company
I am working closely with a company that provides homeless hostels for adults and young people. The projects provide temporary housing and support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Some customers may have a history with drug and alcohol abuse and therefore may need support managing any mental health conditions. The company have a number of night shifts that need covering due to increased staffing need throughout the pandemic. They still have a number of staff working from home still as well as needing additional cover for sickness/planned holiday absences.
Your new role
You will be working as a support worker within the projects, dealing with customers queries, making sure the buildings are secure and reporting any incidents. You will sometimes be faced with challenging behaviours from customers, so you should be confident in handling these sorts of situations.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need to have 6 months experience in a relevant role as well as be able to work night shifts. You will be flexible and be able to work weekends as well as week nights. You will ideally live within easy reach of Chester city centre or be willing to commute on public transport. You must be passionate and understanding about people with complex needs.
