We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate UQ Support Workers to join our team across multiple homes located in South and South East London. These roles involve supporting young people who need assistance with daily living and are not yet fully independent. We are looking to hire multiple support workers, and all successful candidates will be provided with a comprehensive induction to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver the best possible care.
As a UQ Support Worker, you will be playing a pivotal role in improving the lives of young individuals, helping them develop essential life skills while ensuring their safety and well-being in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to young people with personal care, educational activities, and life skills development.
* Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a comfortable and safe home environment.
* Foster positive relationships with young people, encouraging them to build confidence and independence.
* Support young people in attending appointments, social events, and participating in community activities.
* Work collaboratively with other team members, including social workers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to implement and monitor individual care plans.
* Document and report on the progress of the young people in your care, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check with online update service (must be up to date).
* Previous experience in supporting young people with additional needs, learning disabilities, or in a similar care setting is desirable.
* Passion for supporting young people and helping them build independence.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to varying situations.
* A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
* A relevant qualification in health and social care, youth work, or a similar field is advantageous but not essential.
