Day Services for Older People in Renfrewshire has undergone some changes throughout the pandemic and period of recovery, with a blend of services providing support through online support groups, outreach supports and building based services. There are currently three day services for Older People operating across Renfrewshire, with a vacancy arising in Renfrew Day Service for a Unit Manager.
The Day Service for Older People will continue to promote the abilities of people who access the services, encouraging community participation and meaningful activities. This aspiration for people to have positive outcomes requires the leadership of day services staff members to support individuals in their care planning, and the steps required to realise their potential.
The role of Unit Manager requires an individual with experience of working with Older People, who has knowledge of person-centred planning, and an understanding of the key legislation which affects and influences services for older people. This post will involve planning the allocation of day care placements across the service, as well as ensuring support planning and reviews are completed to a high standard in line with the Care Inspectorate quality framework.
Applicants should have a track record of effective budget management and IT skills, with a responsible approach to managing sensitive information, and evidence of effective oral and written communication skills.
Applications are welcome from individuals who approach new challenges with motivation and enthusiasm, having experience of supervising staff and the ability to lead and manage their team to promote excellence in standards of care in line with relevant policies and procedures.
Qualified to SVQ Level 4 and Registered Manager Award or potential to achieve is essential
Specialist knowledge of conditions which affects older adults. e.g. dementia and knowledge of policies and procedures of the council are desirable.

You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.
