Job Description

This post is internal and open to current employees of Renfrewshire Council only.

Based at Johnstone Town Hall, 25 Church Street, Paisley, PA5 8FA

You will be dedicated to helping potential tenants and tenants requiring advice on a wide range of financial matters linked to setting up and sustaining a tenancy, working in conjunction with the Council’s specialist services and initiatives targeted at financial inclusion within Renfrewshire. In addition, you will develop links with external agencies to maximise opportunities and access to other financial services and products for tenants.

It is essential you have experience of working with and on behalf of customers; income maximisation in relation to housing costs; setting up and maintaining statistical information systems and presentation and interpretation of data analysis. You must have knowledge of issues facing potential/tenants in relation to housing costs, access to related benefits and financial products linked to setting up and sustaining a tenancy; have effective communication, keyboard and IT skills; be self motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and creative as well as being able to work on your own initiative.

Previous experience of visiting customers in their own homes and knowledge of housing benefit system is desirable as is a driving licence.
