Team manager, children’s social worker, Solihull Council, £39.30ph, assessment team, hybrid working

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for a team manager to join the assessment team in the children’s services. An early assessment in children’s risks and needs is crucial and therefore this local authority is expanding their resources by bringing in more social work professionals to join the assessment team. Your new role
As a team manager for the assessment team, you will be responsible for managing a group of 5 experienced social workers. You will ensure you lead and support your allocated workers enabling them to do their job at a high standard. Your role will also involve undertaking supervision sessions under Solihull Council’s policies and procedures.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have a Social Work degree (or Social Work England equivalent), SWE registered, and have successfully completed the ASYE programme or an equivalent post qualifying pathway. You will also need to be familiarised with social work policies and practices, as well as have good IT skills, and the ability to take the lead role in management of workloads.
As a manager for the assessment team, you will need to have substantial post qualifying experience in supervising, safeguarding and Child Protection work. Ideally you would also have some relevant management training and experience using LCS.
