Based in Johnstone Town Hall, Ludovic Square, PA5 8EE.The successful applicant will initially be involved in leading Social Work’s Early Response and Assessment teams. We are further developing our innovative and highly regarded joint (with NHS) single point of contact to consolidate our initial response to both Adult Support and Protection (ASP) referrals and requests for assessments with separate teams devoted to each of these areas. The Teams will continue to develop our highly effective working relationships with health colleagues as we work to establish a fully integrated response.

We are looking for high achieving managers who are fully committed to delivering positive outcomes for people and who work effectively with colleagues across Health and Council services. You will at all times retain a 360° view of your team’s functioning and actively manage the team’s performance and continually be looking for ways to improve the service. You will be supported by a strong and energetic management team.

The main duties of the posts will include: providing supervision and workload management to the team; leading adult protection work (ASP team), chairing relevant meetings; ensuring a high quality of service delivery; working in partnership with other agencies; contributing to operational planning.It is essential that you have experience of working in statutory services and of risk assessment; a sound knowledge of core legislation with the ability to build strong relationships with other professionals. You must have good communication skills, a positive, approachable manner and be flexible with strong leadership skills.

You will be expected to record and monitor work using electronic case recording systems including SWIFT and to be computer literate.

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.

You must hold a BA (Hons) in Social Work, or equivalent relevant experience, for the ASP teams and be registered with the SSSC. For the assessment team you must hold a BSC in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent relevant experience, and be registered with the appropriate professional body. Applications from Mental Health Officers and Practice Teachers are particularly welcomed. An additional allowance is payable to practicing MHO’s.
