An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Team Manager within Families Together, as part of an exciting initiative to enhance our services which support vulnerable children to remain safely within their home and community.
Families Together works with families who have multiple and complex needs and with children and young people at risk of having to live outwith their family.. The service is based on a family intervention approach, the key aspects of which are:
The team is being significantly expanded in order to increase the range of intensive support available to families with multiple needs and those in crisis. The aim is to expand the work of the team with families with children at imminent risk of becoming accommodated, in order to empower families to support each other and build on their strengths to support children to remain at home.
Each worker will work intensively and creatively with a small caseload of families by supporting families to build resilience, change negative behaviours and live successfully within the community. The workers will visit families at the times they most need support, including early morning, evenings and weekends so flexible working will be a key part of the service and management cover should be available for staff.. A shift pattern will be core to the work and therefore the posts attract a shift allowance.
The successful applicants will lead an effective team whose success will be measured in its capacity to avoid accommodation of young people ad improve outcomes for children and families.
Applications are invited from qualified social workers with management experience from the following fields; criminal justice/youth justice, children and families social work, housing and the voluntary sector. You will have experience of supporting staff to effect positive change for families with complex and multiple needs, working in challenging situations. You will have experience of evaluation, outcomes focussed service delivery and a proven track record of effective partnership working with a variety of agencies.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme (at a cost of £59) or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check (at a cost of £18) prior to commencing employment. The cost of the PVG application or update will be deducted from your salary over a period of either 1 or 3 months
