The successful candidate will lead our Community Review Team which is responsible for the review of people being supoprted by Care at Home providers. They will deliver an increased focus on Care at Home quality assurance developing close working relationship with Policy & Planning colleagues. The team is also responsible for ensuring care and support maximises people’s independence and is delivered cost effectively.
The post holder will also take a lead across the Partnership on Self-Directed Support and direct payments , linking into the national agenda, forums and actively promote innovation and have management responsibility for the Financial Management Service ( management of clients’ funds).
Home Working Consideration
This post may be considered for home or hybrid working in accordance with East Lothian Council’s Home Working and Worksmart Policies, and the requirements of the service. Options will be discussed with candidates at interview. All employees must be based in the UK.
To assist in the management of the Community Care service providing a responsive and needs led social work service throughout East Lothian in accordance with relevant legislation, national standards, Council policies and plans with a commitment to achieve best value.

Degree in Social Work (or other recognised Social Work Qualification, i.e. CQSW, Dip SW, CCETSW) or equivalent level of qualification in Occupational Therapy
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) OR the Health and
Care Professions Council (HCPC) is an essential requirement of this role. If you are
appointed and are not already a member of the HCPC or the relevant section of the
SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for SSSC registration as soon as possible
and this must be achieved within six months of your start date.
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
