Please note that there are two separate application packs for these roles
Our children and families service is innovative, creative and compassionate, and these are just some of the attributes East Renfrewshire HSCP is looking for in candidates for two posts – team manager (intensive services) and (community children’s services).
We are looking for applicants with the right values, experience and leadership to help navigate our course to making East Renfrewshire the best place for children to grow up.
The service is committed to the children and their families it supports. Children and young people are at the heart of everything we do and we recognise the importance of relationship with our families and with each other.
The successful candidates will have experience working in children and families as building effective and mutually respectful relationships with the families you support will be key.
Working alongside children and their families, with colleagues in Health and Education we have a shared vision to do what matters and makes a difference.
The post holders will work agilely across the community. You will benefit from flexible working, pension contributions, professional development and being part of one of the most progressive social work service in Scotland.
Applicants will hold a professional social work qualification and be able to demonstrate considerable social work experience, whilst previous supervisory experience and excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills will be an advantage.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults.
This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must complete registration within the first 6 months of employment).
Employees with a contract of employment for 3 months or more are automatically included in our Local Government Pension Scheme which is a career average scheme. Pension contribution rates are based on a tiered system determined by your annual full time equivalent pensionable pay. For example for those earning up to and including £21,800 the contribution rate you pay is 5.5% of your salary. The council pays the rest of the cost of providing your benefits. This amount varies but it’s always enough to make sure your pension can be paid and will be at least 19.3% of your pay. In addition you get tax relief on your contributions – the tax you pay on your salary is calculated after your pension contributions are deducted.
Other main pension benefits include a pension that increases each year in line with price inflation and the ability to exchange some of your pension to provide a tax free lump sum. Further details can be found in the attached document General Information for Applicants or via the Strathclyde Pension Fund website
