Team Leader
Waverley Court
Salary: £47,654 – £57,042
Hours: 36 per week
The City of Edinburgh Council is looking to recruit Team Leaders for Chalmers, Drylaw and Moredun Houses for young people. This is an exiting opportunity to lead a team of residential staff working with young people to ensure they receive the highest quality care and positive outcomes and experiences for the period of time they live in our houses . The Team Leader has an operational and quality assurance role, ensuring Edinburgh’s values and behaviours, GIRFECC and the Promise are embedded into all practice within the residential house. To achieve this, you will supervise a team of Assistant Team Leaders and provide ongoing support, guidance and leadership to the whole residential team.
As part of the wider CEC residential management group, you will also contribute to ensuring residential care in Edinburgh meets the needs of all of Edinburgh’s young people who require to be looked after in residential care and ensure we have a staff who respond to young people in a trauma informed approach, supporting young people to maintain family contact and, where appropriate, support the young person to live with their family. You will also ensure residential care reflects and influences the wider CEC children services priorities and strategic plans.
The Team Leader will normally be based within the house they are appointed to and may, dependant on operational demand, work out with normal office hours and at weekends.
Please state your preferred choice of Chalmers, Drylaw or Moredun within your application.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
