Community Inclusion Team is a Support Service for adults with a Learning Disability – office base is located in Livingston. The service provides and supports individuals to access a range of meaningful and outcome led activities and opportunities that promote community involvement, skill building and wellbeing, for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria. The service operates from a number of community bases and facilities throughout West Lothian
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful applicant to join a small management team within the Community Inclusion Team. This post holder will be responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of keyworkers and support workers to deliver and develop community based support that is stimulating, individualised & outcome based as well as meets local and national key guidance requirements.
This will require knowledge, understanding and experience of latest developments and direction of day support services as well as the creativity to augment the ongoing modernisation of service.
It will be essential for applicants to have had previous experience of working with Adults with a Learning Disability especially in care planning and hold HNC Social Care & SVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification. As well as being desirable to have had some ‘lead’ role experience.
You must also be able to communicate with a wide variety of people both verbally and in writing and utilising different IT systems to do this, as well as have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure and be able to demonstrate good organisational skills.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
