Social Workers Team Leader (Children and Adults) Locations: Dorset – different locations available

You will be working as a part of one of the local authority teams, based in both hospital and community settings. Your new role
You will be completing various assessments of the needs of vulnerable individuals and their families, helping them handle everyday life problems. Depending on Your specific team, you will be responsible for different tasks such as undertaking and writing up assessments, analysing complex information, carrying out inspections, maintaining accurate records. As part of this role you will have supervisory responsibility for Consultant Social Workers, ChAD Advisors and ChAD Co-ordinators. The role will also include: – Chairing of strategy discussions – Managing workflow and decision making – Quality Assurance of decision making – Weekly auditing alongside partner agencies – Using data and dashboards for performance management – Lead roles for key areas of work, for example, Domestic Abuse, Child Exploitation, Prevent – Managing staff rotas to ensure sufficient service cover, particularly in times of increased need – Working closely with partner agencies to ensure effective information sharing supports good decision making at the front door, that has a focus on the needs of children, young people and their families – Facilitating reflective workshops and group supervision You will also be expected to work closely with the Early Help Team Manager and your ChAD Team Manager colleagues, to manage and support the competing demands of a busy and fast-paced front door service.

The following skills are key for Your success: Excellent communication skills, Critical thinking and professional reasoning, Ability to work in stressful and demanding situations, an understanding of diversity and how it affects practice, Ability to co-operate and work well with others, Experience of providing professional reflective supervision For social worker roles you will need to have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and be registered with Social Work England.
