Your new company is continually growing and provides a range of care to individuals who report extra support. Your new home supports 6 residents – these adults have ABI (acquired brain injuries) and physical disabilities and require around the clock support. The home prides itself on supporting and nurturing each individual resident giving them a good balance between care and therapy in order to help them develop and flourish. They have a proven track record of supporting individuals from all different backgrounds and with a wide range of complex needs – to help them gain valuable life skills and to get the best out of life.
Your new role
Your new role will be rewarding and fun, yet somewhat challenging – but the rewards you reap are extremely worthwhile. No two days will be the same!
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
– Getting the residents up and ready for the day (and ready for bed – shift dependant), this will include personal care, such as washing, dressing, pad changes and help with feeding.
– Joining in with any activities that they may wish to take part in, such as going out into town, to the cinema, shopping, bowling etc, or doing activities within the house such as drawing, reading, playing games.
– Accompanying them to medical appointments, such as hospitals, doctors or dentists.
– Ensuring that they are always safe and that their personalised, individual care plans are being adhered to and followed correctly
– Providing companionship
Full and part time shifts available Temporary
What you’ll need to succeed
A minimum of 6 months experience supporting vulnerable adults
Previous experience of working with adults with ABI (Acquired Brain Injuries) desirable but not essential Resilience and Flexibility
You will also be dedicated to helping vulnerable adults.
Ideally you will also be able to drive.
A DBS on the update service is desirable
