Full Time & Part Time – Support Worker – Newport (Caerleon)
Your new company
My Client is a large not for profit organisation that supports people with Autism and their families and carers. They are currently looking for support workers for one of their residential sites in Newport. This particular services is home to 3 residents who have Autism. It is a comfortable home close to local amenities, with a large garden and outdoor swing. The home has a large communal area that the residents like to relax in together. The home is mixed gender and service users vary in age.
The organisation is looking for Support Workers who are passionate about providing care and support to people with autism and who have experience in similar settings, either with autistic adults, or other adults with learning disabilities. The organisation have expertise knowledge in Autism and specialise in caring for and supporting individuals how are living with Autism. My client offers person-centred care and ensure that every individual is supported as such. They work to fully understand diagnosis’ and plan care around medical advise and guidance.
Your new role
In your new job you will be required to provide excellent care and support at all times. You will need to be reliable, not just for the service, but for the service users. In this job you will need to support service users in the all aspects, helping them with everyday activities such as cooking and cleaning and supporting them out in the community.
My client is looking for both Full Time and Part Time hours for this role and shifts will range from mornings, evenings and long days. You need to be flexible to work across 7 days a week.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to have experience working in social care, as well as the passion to give support and help those who have Autism .
You will need to be flexible to working a variety of shifts across the week and be open to different shift patterns.
PBM training is desirable for this role, but not essential.
Most importantly you will need to be compassionate and caring as well as passionate about providing excellent care and a desire to support those with Autism
