Support Worker – Children

Your new company:
Hays Social Care are currently working with outstanding and reputable organisations in the Coventry and Warwickshire area who offer care and support for children with severe complex needs. They specialise in working with and supporting children who are diagnosed with disorders, such as EBD, ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, OCD and learning difficulties. Their aim is to offer care and support to empower service users to live fulfilled livelihoods and realise their potential.

Your new role:
You will be working closely with our client’s residential services teams across Coventry to support children from a range of backgrounds, ages and genders.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Supporting children with their behaviour, physical and mental well-being
• Assisting and offering support with children’s education and training
• Ensure children receive the best start in life as possible to carry them through to adulthood
• Respond and use initiative if faced with challenging behaviour
• Encourage independence and opportunities to learn and grow

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Ideally possess a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People
• Have a minimum of six months experience working in a children’s residential setting within the last two years
• Passionate about supporting the needs of young people
• Be confident in your ability to work with young people and think on your feet
• Be flexible for a variety of shift patterns
