Permanent* Support Worker role working with young adults with LD and complex needs

Holistic Engagement Worker/ Support Worker- Sheffield based- Supporting young adults with a range of Special Educational Needs and Learning Disabilities which can include complex needs and challenging behaviour in a residential and educational setting.
Hays Social Care are currently recruiting for a number of temporary to permanent vacancies for a Sheffield based client. These roles are subject to 12 weeks of temp and will be made permanent on successful completion of the 12 week period. This exciting opportunity will give the successful applicants the opportunity to work across both a residential environment and an educational setting- all accessible via public transport.
Your new role
This is a challenging and demanding role but one that is incredibly rewarding. As a Support Worker to young adults with a range of SEND, complex needs and challenging behaviours, no two days will be the same for you. You will be met with new challenges and a sense of job satisfaction each day. You will be able to see the difference you are making to service users lives as you develop a rapport with each of them individually.
As a Holistic Engagement Worker/ Support Worker, your main purpose is to support the service users holistic needs, care and well-being. You will nurture and encourage their growth, confidence and independence across all areas of their lives in both a residential and educational setting. You will offer support and guidance across a multi-disciplined and dynamic environment, enabling the service user to learn new skills that they can implement in their everyday lives.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this appointment, you must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a Support Worker role as you will need to be able to hit the ground running. You must have a strong character, a creative approach to work and a desire to make a difference. This post includes work in both a residential and educational environment so experience of both would be preferable but not essential.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable although not essential, providing you are willing to travel via public transport across multiple Sheffield locations to provide support where needed.
This post is subject to a full enhanced DBS. If you do not hold one that is registered on the update service, Hays will apply for a new one on your behalf.
You must be flexible with the working hours you are available as a mixture of weekdays, weekends and night shifts will be required.
