Support worker
Hays Social Care are working with some outstanding organisations in and around the Oxford area that support young adults with disabilities with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have fulfilled lives, to gain further independence and realise their potential as equal and active citizens.
The children and young adults that we support may have learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, epilepsy, physical disabilities, and other various complex needs. You will be supporting these individuals with days out and activities, food preparation, personal care, social activities and helping them to access the community.
We will offer you consistent work in a flexible working pattern, so you decide when you work, and how many hours you work on a week-on-week basis. You will be supporting people to work towards personal goals and needs. Our client works closely with each individual and their families to make sure each care programme is carefully personalised; including world-class learning opportunities, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, guided leisure time, vocational training and independent living skills where needed.
Most activities will tend to be either one to one or in small groups and involve social events, plenty of trips out and accessing to the community.
You Will Need: – at least six months Experience with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs – Experienced with Moving and Handling, including Integrated Hoisting Systems – A Professional Attitude – Passionate about Care – You must be organised, a good communicator and self-motivated.
