Support worker – Social care – Blackpool
Your new company
You will be working for a residential care provider, based in Blackpool, which provides the highest quality care for Children and Young People aged between 8 and 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. The residential home is part of a well-established group across the North West whose vision is to provide high quality care and living environments for all the children entrusted to them. Due to their recent growth and expansion, they are currently recruiting for Residential Support Workers.
Your new role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with other local authorities to proactively support children and young people who have been subject to adverse childhood experiences. You will be responsible for supporting the social, emotional and behavioural needs of the children and young people whilst aiding their development into independent, valued citizens enjoying equal rights, opportunities and a good quality of life. Your role will involve working 40 hours per week over varying shift patterns including days, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Paid sleep-ins will also be required as part of the role.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered it is essential you are an open, ambitious and passionate individual who wants to make a difference by working as part of a team to support children and young people who are living away from home to achieve positive outcomes. Ideally you will have experience working with children and young people within similar settings and/or hold the NVQ Level 3/Diploma in Children and Young People.
