Support Worker – Port Talbot – Temporary to Permanent – Full Time

Your new role
In this role you will become part of a team that is passionate about providing expert care to service 24 hour a day. You will become part of a larger organisation, that supports individuals on a personal level. You will be providing ongoing care and support for service users.
In this role, service users have various learning disabilities that can result in challenging behaviour. The client will provide PBM training, and on going support and training whilst on the job.
This role is a temporary position with the opportunity to go permanent for the correct candidate.
You will be working on a full time rota, across 7 days a week, and will have to be flexible for a variety of shifts. You will also have to be available to work night shifts after you have become familiar with the role and the service.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you must have the ability to support, empower and promote the rights of people with learning disabilities. You must have good communication and listening skills as well as have a positive, non-judgemental, empathetic and sensitive approach to difficult situations.
You should be able to work as part of a team but also have the ability to use initiative when needed
You must be flexible to work a variety of shifts across a 24 hour day, 7 day week, 365 day year rota
