Although our ideal guaranteed contract is for 25 hours per week, we can consider a range of other guaranteed hours.

Are you considering a career change or already working in the care sector. Our Support at Home team in West Lothian is currently recruiting care staff, with or without care experience.
As part of our team, you will have a guaranteed hours contract, be paid a shift allowance in addition to your basic salary and at work, be provided with uniforms and have the use of a phone. You will take part in our extensive training programmes and be supported to achieve an SVQ II in health and social care.
The Support at Home service works across West Lothian and supports anyone who needs to be discharged from hospital or needs to be assessed for care at home supports in the community. This includes tasks such as personal care, medication, mobility practice and meal preparation.
You will need to enjoy working with people, have empathy, and like a working environment which is fast paced with no two days the same. You will also need to want to be part of a team who are committed to providing good quality care in people’s homes and be willing to work a shift pattern

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
West Lothian Council currently applies a living wage supplement to all employees earning less than £9.34 per hour.
