An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the south integrated Learning Disability team. If you are an enthusiastic social worker keen to ensure a human right based approach to support adults with learning disabilities then this may be the job for you!
We are a small friendly team covering South Aberdeenshire. You will work closely with other members of a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, nursing and occupational therapy. You will be responsible for completing self-directed support (SDS) assessments, annual reviews and Welfare Guardianship reviews. You will also be involved in adult protection work following training if needed.
The ideal candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude, be passionate about supporting those with learning disabilities and a team player. You’ll work closely with families and must have excellent communication and organisational skills.
We are a flexible, family friendly team and happy to accept applications for those looking for full-time or part-time work. Please indicate your preference in your application. Please note there is one full-time position available though this could be split between two candidates.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
A full UK driving licence is required as well as access to a car
