Salary: £34,057 – £40,275 per year
Hours: 36 per week

1 x Social Worker (Permanent)
2 x Social Worker (Fixed Term for 12 months)

We are looking for three enthusiastic social work practitioners to join our Young People’s Service (YPS) working with children and young people aged 12 -18 who are in conflict with the law. One of these jobs is a permanent appointment whilst two are fixed term for a year.

We work in partnership with children, young people and their families on a voluntary and statutory basis within both the children’s hearings and criminal justice systems. We are a team committed to supporting children and young people to realise their potential.

You will be responsible for holding a varied caseload including holding legal orders,  undertaking risk assessments using START:AV and AIM 3, writing reports for the Children’s Reporter, Procurator Fiscal and Court and delivering interventions.

Applicants must hold a Social Work qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Registration with SSSC is required.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.  For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
