Social Worker – UASC – ME4, Chatham, Kent Contract, Temporary

Social Worker | UASC Team | Medway Council

We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join the 16+ Service to primarily support unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) who are looked after by the local authority, and former UASC care leavers open to Leaving Care Services until their 21st birthday.

Applicants will need to have good knowledge and experience of working with, assessing and supporting UASC and/or former UASC care leavers, with full understanding of the Asylum and Looked After processes and legislations. Applicants will need to demonstrate their experience of working with children in care, UASC, care leavers, adolescents and/or children and families without recourse to public funds is essential, but also a keen interest in working with and supporting young people who have experienced trauma and where English is not their first language is key.
