Social Worker – 12 month fixed term contract
South West Locality – Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre
Salary: £31,484 – £37,589
Hours: 36 per week
Position will be across Hub (short-term/crisis work/duty work) and Cluster (long-term social work)
You will work alongside people in their own homes and in hospital to assess their needs and work towards suitable supports to sustain them in their own homes where possible. The Edinburgh Health and Social Care partnership is promoting the Three conversations approach and there will be opportunities to be part of this innovative work.
You will be responsible for the assessment and care management of a variety of cases. Both teams undertake adult protection work. The Hub undertakes initial Inquiries investigating new adult protection concerns and the Cluster manage open Adult Protection cases.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team with colleagues including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, community care assistants, Homecare and NHS colleagues.
You will be keen to explore developing resources and understand the importance of working with people in an asset based way.
Social Work qualification at degree level
Registration with the SSSC
Experience of work with adults in a statutory setting is desirable
A sound knowledge of applicable legislation including Adult Support and protection, Adults with Incapacity, Self directed support, Carers Act is essential
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
