Safeguarding Social Worker Job – Adults Services – Busy Local Authority – Immediate Start

An exciting new opportunity has risen in North London for a large local authority, within the Safeguarding Teams of Adult Social Services. The role is now available due to the funding now being approved for this post as there has been an increase in workload.
Your new role
The main purpose of your role is to undertake person centred triaging and Section 42 Safeguarding Investigations for Haringey residents and service users, as well as their carers in line with the Care Act 2014. Social workers will work to maximise the independence of those assessment and implement preventative interventions, including working with voluntary and community groups and ensure a strengths-based approach is central to the process.
As the new Safeguarding Social Worker within this team, You will undertake investigations in a person centred and holistic manner that has a focus on both the individual’s strengths and preventative options that enable us to maximise the independence of the individual. You will manage and prioritise workload so that deadlines are adhered to with a focus on high standards of written work and effective interventions and outcomes. Ensure that all Safeguarding investigations are in line with the Mental Capacity Act and that workers make judgements on where a service user may have significant difficult engaging in the process and in those instances that they have suitable advocacy support. Carry out Mental Capacity Assessments and make Best Interest decisions where appropriate.
In your new role, you will be required to work within the framework and principles of the Care Act 2014 in making sure that the Safeguarding investigations are accessible, person centred, holistic with a focused on wellbeing and prevention. You will use the Safeguarding process to make sure that the outcomes for service users are achieved and hold providers accountable for making sure that outcomes are met. You will need to understand the Haringey Safeguarding Process and the safeguarding statutory guidance as set out in the Care Act 2014 and ensure that any identified safeguarding concerns are raised appropriately and in a timely manner with a focus on Making Safeguarding Personal. To undertake safeguarding enquiries.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be a successful candidate for this role, firstly you will need a degree in Social Work and to have an active HCPC registration. The ideal candidate would also have post Qual experience within a Safeguarding team. You will need a good knowledge of Health and Social Care needs of vulnerable adults, carers/families. As well as this, you will have good knowledge and understanding of legislative and contextual framework affecting the work of the service. You will have proven experience and knowledge of national and local process for safeguarding vulnerable adults.
