Coventry City Council is expanding the Referral and Assessment teams and therefore is looking for a number of experienced qualified social workers to join the Area Teams. This teams works with all new referrals into the service and cover four main areas of the city: Foleshill Road (central), Henley area (east), Coundon (west) and Willenhall (south).

As a senior social worker for the Referral and Assessment team in Coventry City Council, your main responsibility will be planning intensive interventions for parents, carers, and young people. You will complete assessments and child protection enquires and work with children and families who are supported via CIN and CP plans.
You will be part of a team consisting of a mixture of different professionals. These teams are fast paced, but there is high support and manageable caseloads.
As a social worker for the Area Teams, you will be based at one of the four locations mentioned above: Foleshill, Henley, Coundon or Willenhall.
To be successful, you will be an experienced social worker – completed ASYE plus 1 year experience -, registered with Social Work England. As a future children’s social worker, you will have knowledge of relevant children’s legislation and Social Care provision. Knowledge of statutory guidelines and current thinking on good practice is also required. You will be very committed, motivated, and well-organised, and you will be able to prioritise tasks to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
You will be offered a competitive hourly rate of £33.30, with hybrid/ remote working opportunities plus additional benefits.
