£40,243 – £42,946
Pullar House, Perth
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Mental Health Officer to join Perth and Kinross Council’s specialist Mental Health Officer (MHO)Team.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join our specialist MHO Team to support us in delivering an MHO service in Perth and Kinross. You will be working directly with service users with mental health and/or capacity issues and their families and carers.
We welcome applications from qualified and experienced Mental Health Officers.
You will be experienced in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals, carers, and other agencies, and will be experienced in developing and sustaining inter-agency working relationships.
The team is currently operating a hybrid working arrangement with a combination of home/office based working which can be negotiated to meet the needs of both individual and the service.
You should hold a degree in Social Work, or equivalent, and be a professionally registered practitioner, as per SSSC requirements.
A Mental Health Officer qualification and recent experience of MHO work is essential.
You will have the specialist knowledge and skills to undertake MHO work, and have the ability to effectively manage a busy caseload, working to timescales and managing competing demands. You will have excellent written, IT and verbal communication skills and demonstrate skills and experience in assessment, preparation of reports and applications, and presentation to Legal hearings.
You will be highly motivated, innovative and flexible in your approach, as well as being clear and concise in both your written and verbal communication.
You must have a genuine interest in working with people in a recovery focussed way to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
You will be expected to travel efficiently between various work locations. Due to the rural nature of Perth and Kinross, this is normally undertaken by car/pool car. A driving license is therefore required.
If this sounds like a role where you could share your relevant experience and make a positive difference then we would like to hear from you.
