This post will be within a busy Children and Families Social Work team and the applicant should have relevant knowledge and experience with parenting capacity assessments, child protection and the associated policies and legislation around these.
The essential qualifications for a Social Worker within the Children and Families Department are a degree in Social Work and registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £36,117.53 per annum.
Regulated Work with Children
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
