An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Mental Health Team for a qualified Social Worker.
The post holder will work within a busy, multi-disciplinary team based in the Clydebank area of West Dunbartonshire. The client group are adults aged 18-65 with a diagnosis of mental illness. Work will include statutory social work tasks including completing community care assessments, adult support and protection work and supporting the implementation of self directed support as well as social work assessments and reviews.
There is a generic component to this post which requires the post holder to undertake generic mental health assessments and generic duty tasks alongside nursing and occupational therapy colleagues.
There is a strong focus on multi-disciplinary decision making which sits alongside discipline specific supervision and accountability. This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker to broaden their skills base and to enhance their practice.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are “spent” under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
