Social Worker/Mental Health Officer PKC10731
£40,243 – £42,946
Pullar House, 35 Kinnoull Street, Perth PH1 5GD
You should hold a degree in Social Work, or equivalent, and be a professionally registered practitioner, as per SSSC requirements.
A Mental Health Officer qualification and recent experience of MHO work is desirable but not essential.
You will have the specialist knowledge and skills to undertake MHO work, and have the ability to effectively manage a busy caseload, working to timescales and managing competing demands. You will have excellent written, IT and verbal communication skills and demonstrate skills and experience in assessment, preparation of reports and applications, and presentation to Legal hearings.
You will be highly motivated, innovative and flexible in your approach, as well as being clear and concise in both your written and verbal communication.
You must have a genuine interest in working with people in a recovery focussed way to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
You will be expected to travel efficiently between various work locations. Due to the rural nature of Perth and Kinross, this is normally undertaken by car/pool car. A driving licence is therefore required.
If this sounds like a role where you could share your relevant experience and make a positive difference then we would like to hear from you.
If you would like any further information please contact Lorna Davage, Team Leader on 01738 476225/ 07500761196
When applying for this post, please provide current contact details (including e-mail addresses) for two referees, one should be your present or most recent employer. However, if you are an existing employee of Perth & Kinross Council, you are only required to provide reference details for your current employer.
At PKC our values and behaviours influence our work and support us in the delivery of the Perth and Kinross Offer. In your application, and should you be invited to interview, you will be asked to describe situations that support the criteria required in the role and which also demonstrate our values and behaviours. Find out more about PKC and you could soon be joining our team!
Please APPLY ONLINE. Facilities are available at all public libraries in Perth and Kinross. If you have a disability and require reasonable adjustments, please call 01738 475555 to discuss.
As part of our safer recruitment measures, any offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of mandatory checks including eligibility to work in the UK, Disclosure Scotland or PVG, qualifications, references, and fitness to undertake the post.
Some jobs may have been traditionally carried out predominately by one gender, but we would encourage you to apply if you meet the requirements, irrespective of your gender.
