The role of a Social Worker within the Community Mental Health Team is to support individuals, families, and communities by promoting well-being, independence, and to safeguard vulnerable people. This involves assessing needs and risks, developing care plans, and working collaboratively with service users, carers, and other professionals to provide appropriate support. Social Workers within this role will ensure that individuals receive the services they require while upholding their rights, promoting choice, and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives. Social worker will also play a key role in crisis intervention, risk management and safeguarding – working within legal frameworks, policies, and procedures to protect and enhance the welfare of those in need
Professional Social Work qualification
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council

The ability to manage computerised recording and information systems An ability to adapt & transfer own skills to meet needs of service users / the team.
An awareness of issues relating to adult and/or vulnerable people and in particular an understanding of the impact of disability and the ageing process.
Comprehensive knowledge of Community Care/Health legislation and ability to work within a statutory framework.
Assessment and care planning skills which encourage an outcomes approach. Negotiation/networking skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other agencies to develop quality services.
Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with users and carers
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
